All-Star Break

Thursday, July 17, 2014

Zach got to Sendai around 12:00 from the road trip. We met up with Naru to go to the Disney Store to get tickets for Disney Sea in Tokyo, which we planned to go on Friday. On our way back from the Disney store, we stopped at Baskin Robbins. Yum!

We needed to get tickets for the bullet train, too. The tickets were $600. We were not paying that much money. Zach has a day off in Tokyo in September so I am just going to go on the road trip with him and we will go then! I can't wait!
Later that night, we went out to dinner with Brian and Sandy. We went to T.R.G.E. (Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles). It is a sports pub that sponsors the team and they just opened this year. They put us in a private room that was big enough to hold about 20 people. There were only 4 of us. It was so funny.
We ordered a bunch of appetizers. They gave us 9 different dipping sauces for the french fries. Would you like some fries with your sauce? Jeez! We had a great time!

Before we went to bed, Zach realized his toothbrush was in his luggage at the field. He had to use mine. He took marriage to a whole new level.

Since we ended up not going to Disney, we took the subway to a sports store called Xebio. That was our first time on the subway without a translator and we actually survived! After we went to Xebio, we went to Harley Davidson. My Dad loves Harley so we got him a shirt.

We checked out a mall and then headed back to our apartment. For dinner, we made chicken teriyaki and rice. I never thought I would want rice again after all the rice I had when I first got here, but I used the rice cooker and it turned out really good.

After dinner, we went out for a walk. It was a perfect night filled with lots of interesting sights. Including the shoes in the picture below. How the heck did that guy walk in those shoes?

We made breakfast for the first time. Usually we just have cereal, toast, or yogurt. I was a little worried about using the eggs here since they are not refrigerated. I decided to use the eggs to make pancakes and I actually found Ore-Idea Hash Browns. I cracked open the egg and it was orange. After that, I realized I will never eat scrambled eggs here.

We made tacos for dinner and sundaes for dessert. We were all ready to make our sundaes when we realized we forgot the ice cream. Seriously? How could we forget the main ingredient? We made a quick run to the conveinent store and found some ice cream. Zach put on the toppings and I think he put more almonds than ice cream on mine. Next time I will just make my own.
