I was sitting at the game cheering for the Eagles and these 2 girls next to me showed me their phone. On their phone it said, "Whose fan are you?" I pointed and said, "Husband Lutz." They screamed with excitement. Did I just make 2 friends? After numerous phone translations later, I actually did make friends! They didn't know English and I obviously don't know Japanese, so the only way to communicate was with Google Translation on our phones. We got coconut ice cream that was still in the coconut shell. So delicious! After our ice cream, I treated them to iced coffee. They were so appreciative.
Suddenly, it all went downhill from there. Zach was up to bat and the pitcher threw a ball at 95 mph. It hit him right on the forearm. I was about ready to jump over the wall and beat the crap out of the pitcher. He said it hurt so bad he almost passed out. Zach gets hit a lot for some reason, but he said this was by far the worst pain. I felt so bad for him. That was the end of the game for him!
Sapporo had been nothing but bad luck for us. I was happy to be leaving!
After a 2 hour flight and a 45 minute taxi ride, we were finally at our hotel in Osaka. We were both starving since we didn't have lunch or dinner, so we had a Pizza Hut pizza delivered. Ah, just like home!
