Manicures & Louis Vuitton

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

I experienced my first manicure in Japan with Naru. I have to say they do the best nail designs here, but their manicure only consists of nail filing and cuticle cutting. What about the scrub, hot towel, and massage? That's the best part! My nails are teeny tiny because of my nail biting habit, so I was surprised they could even put a design on them! I had fun and I can't wait to go back.

After being pampered, we went to the grocery store. I used to believe everything in Japan was small, until I saw their fruits and vegetables. You may not be able to tell from the picture, but the apples are about as big as a cantaloupe.

The shopping carts are small, so you need to put a basket inside of them to hold all of your groceries. When Zach and I shop for groceries for our apartment, we may need quite a few carts and baskets! Once your items are rung up, the cashier puts them back into the cart. When you are done paying for your items and plastic bags (they are not free here!), you bag your groceries at a separate counter.

After Zach had practice, we went to find a carry-on. We started out in Loft and they had plenty to choose from, but Zach only had one store in mind. Louis Vuitton. Why was I not surprised? As soon as we walked in, he knew exactly what he wanted. He got his initials on his bag tag and I got my initials on my wallet that I already had. While we were waiting for that to be done, we decided to look around. He basically forced me into getting another purse. I mean, totally twisted my arm! I don't know how I let him talk me into it. Zach's motto is "You work hard, you play good, and you gotta look good!" Keep playing good Zach so we can keep looking good! Ha!
